World of Warcraft Priest Guide
GamingIn Wow, Druids, Shamans and Paladins have the power to heal as part of their hybrid abilities but World of Warcraft Priests are the only class whose specialization is almost exclusive to healing. Their healing is so powerful they need no casting and their effect is instant unlike the heals performed by these hybrid classes whose healing strengths are somewhat diluted by comparison.
Their healing power is so efficient that they are probably the most desirable class when WoW players decide on the member classes to include in a group. For raids, instances, group quests etc, the demand for Priests is very high, and if looking for a group you will never be short on offers whether you are a high level or low level Priest. They are probably the single most sought after class even before the tanks due to the vital role they play. No healer equal fast death and you’ll ghost run a lot and lose your armor in double quick time, making process pointless and frustrating.
Priests are not only limited to heal if they invest in Shadow talents which is one of the three trees of abilities that are available to them. Shadow priests are able to acquit themselves very well in PvP combat where they can inflict heavy damage with spells on opponents though while doing so, their healing ability is nullified which is a downside. But this is a specialization that is available if you are a Priest that wants to try other things apart from healing.
Other than Shadow specialization another is for Discipline Priests whose strengths are centered in the casting of “buffs” the word used in Wow to describe beneficial spells that can be placed on players in the game. Discipline specialization also allows for high conservation of mana allowing the Discipline Priest to heal his group all the way through a raid or instance without interruption.
Lastly we have the Holy Priests who are the healing power houses in WoW. This status in no better illustrated by one of their final abilities called “Circle of Healing” ability where they can heal a whole group with a single cast on one of the members.
There are many more talents and abilities that make Priests desirable to play like their ability to resurrect themselves and other members, as well as having good crowd and aggro control that brings good balance to a group on top of their already useful healing powers. Yet this is a class that is not so popular for WoW members due to their perceived weaknesses in combat - mostly due to their weak cloth armor. However it is a class that is popular when groups are selected and therefore a class that will make you popular and in demand if you ever decide to start a character in this class.
